A sitting MLA of ruling BSP from Bharthana in Etawah district Shiv Prasad Yadav hasdecided to retire from active politics. "The current political situation is not in my favour. Therefore, I have decided to retire from politics," Yadav said in a letter. Yadav, however, said that he would continue to support party supremo Mayawati.
The sitting MLA was elected in 2009 by-poll elections after defeating an SP candidate. The by-poll was held after SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav vacated the seat after being elected to Lok Sabha.
