In a shocking revelation, the Jammu and Kashmir government's Civil Aviation Department (CAD) has revealed that the state exchequer spent Rs 12 crore for ferrying chief minister Omar Abdullah and other ministers to various destinations within the state during the last three years.
The CAD revealed the details in response to an application filed under RTI by a Budgam resident, Bashir Ahmad Malik.
The details show the expenditure incurred on the usage of the state chopper service from 2009 up to June 2011. Bhat had sought the details from the chief minister's office in June this year but he was refused.
Interestingly, the state's civil aviation department is directly under the control of chief minister Omar Abdullah.
